ClearPointâ„¢ neuro intervention system

ClearPointâ„¢ neuro intervention system
The ClearPoint system is a neurosurgical navigation system that allows for direct visualization of targets using intraoperative MR images. Comprised of an integrated system of software, hardware, and disposables, ClearPoint is used in any 1.5T scanner. The MRI visible stereotactic targeting device, the SmartFrame™, allows for delivery of a variety of devices and instruments including electrodes, biopsy needles, and catheters. ClearPoint is FDA cleared.

Head Coil and Fixation Frame

Head Coil and Fixation Frame
The open architecture of our head coils with an integrated cranial fixation frame allows for surgical access and high quality imaging. Head coils are available for a variety of 1.5T MR scanners.

SmartFrameâ„¢

SmartFrameâ„¢
A stereotactic targeting device, the SmartFrame interfaces with the ClearPoint Neurosurgical Workstation via integrated fiducial markers and an MR visible targeting cannula allowing for MRI guided navigation of the frame’s trajectory. The small profile of the skull-mounted frame allows for simultaneous bilateral procedures. The SmartFrame’s trajectory is easily adjusted to align with the target via software guidance and has four degrees of freedom with highly precise adjustment capabilities.

Using intraprocedural MR images, the intuitive, menu driven software provides surgical planning, navigation to target, and device delivery. Special software features include automatic AC-PC detection with a manual adjustment feature, a probes eye view along the trajectory, brain atlas, and automatic report generation. The in-room MRI compatible monitor and trackball provide remote workstation control by the surgeon at the scanner bore.
