Dear Colleagues and ENS Members,
It is an honour and great pleasure to welcome you to the 19th Meeting of the European Neurological Society. I am especially delighted to welcome you again to Milan for this important meeting. This annual event includes teaching courses, workshops, satellite symposia and platform and poster sessions where young and expert scientists will be able to offer and gain knowledge within the field of clinical and experimental neurology.
Ten years ago, Milan already had the privilege of hosting the annual meeting of the ENS. These ten years produced a huge development both in knowledge on basic mechanisms of neurodegenerative inflammatory and genetic developments, as well as within neuroimaging and neurophysiological techniques in combination with advanced genetics studies, contributing to substantial progress in treatments. The ENS Executive Committee, with the collaboration of invited speakers, has prepared an exciting programme of cutting-edge science presented by outstanding experts in their field.
The many up-to-date neurological topics will be a decisive motivation to come to Milan and so is the beautiful city – famous worldwide for its art, historical monuments, bars, restaurants and shops – which will offer you a very enjoyable stay.
According to ENS tradition, the meeting will establish a basis for sharing visions for the future in the ENS setting of trust and friendship. We hope that this meeting will provide a congenial atmosphere for everyone to learn, exchange ideas and observe the latest developments in neurology. On behalf of the Local Organising Committee we look forward to welcoming you to Milan.
