WelcomeÂ
In 2009, Brussels will be hosting the 19th Alzheimer Europe conference and people with dementia and their carers will be at the centre of our debates for two days filled with exchanges of experiences on how to overcome existing problems, as well as existing solutions.
We therefore invite you – people with dementia, carers, healthcare professionals, volunteers and everyone who has an interest in dementia – to make this conference a true European summit where we can all learn from the skills and knowledge that each one of us possesses.
Belgium is a multicultural, multilingual country in the heart of Europe, famous for its innovations and novel approaches to life. We are hoping that the same enthusiasm and dedication will guide our discussions as people with dementia and their carers are looking to us to find solutions.
The conference aims at improving the quality of the diagnosis, treatment and care of people with dementia. New and exciting research projects will be presented with the keynote lecturers at the conference bein the foremost experts on dementia from Belgium and other parts of Europe.
