Konstantin V Slavin
Professor and Chief of the Section of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). He is the President of the American Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (ASSFN) and Vice-Secretary/Treasurer of the World Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, Director-at-Large of the North American Neuromodulation Society and the International Neuromodulation Society, and Past President of the Russian-American Medical Association. Dr Slavin graduated with excellence from the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute in Baku, Azerbaijan, USSR and completed neurosurgical residency in Moscow; after moving to the US more than 20 years ago, he completed neurosurgery residency at UIC and a fellowship in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon, and obtained certification from the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Dr Slavin heads the fellowship program in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery at UIC; he has edited several books and authored or co-authored more than 150 articles and book chapters.
