Richard G Ellenbogen, MD, FACS is the President of the Congress of
Neurological Surgeons (CNS) and the Chairman of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine, the Theodore S. Roberts Endowed Chair in Neurological Surgery, the Chief of Neurological Surgery at Harborview Medical Center, Chief of Pediatric Neurological Surgery at Children Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle Washington. Dr Ellenbogens basic research is collaborative with Dr Michael Bobola and his translational
research is collaborative with The UW Nano-technology Brain Tumor
Research Group (MINDD). They are currently investigating the genetic
mutations in brain tumors, which cause resistance to chemotherapy.
The Nanotechnology Project is a multidisciplinary team that is
performing translational research on imaging brain tumors using
nanoparticles during surgery and during targeted molecular therapy.
